COMBINE
2005
is the process of gathering and organizing various elements through associations both aesthetic and metaphoric to create new compositions that in some way transcend the unimportance often associated with their individual parts. Such an abundance of printed matter purchased at various thrift stores or found in garages and basements become the components of a new visual vocabulary that blends the various mediums of pen and ink, collage and paint to imbue life into otherwise out-dated and mildly amusing illustrations and photographs. It’s as much reactionary as it is fun. Think of it as a visual jam session that cements friendship and encourages artistic expression.
COMBINE is Ruel Brown, Chris Coy and Gian Pierotti.
